Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on a rotating 8-hour shift schedule, including days, evenings, and nights. You will support nursing staff, monitor vitals, and help maintain patient comfort and safety.

Qualified candidates must meet enter nursing assistant requirements and obtain or maintain BLS certification. A potential hiring incentive of up to $1,500 may apply. This is a 0.4 FTE, on-site role with weekend and holiday duties.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed nursing assistant qualifications.
• Willing to work 32 hours every two weeks with rotating shifts.
• BLS certified or able to become certified within 1 month from hire date.
• Complete Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation course within 90 days if qualified through East Market program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with personal hygiene and nutritional needs.
• Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment to promote healing.
• Assist with transfers and provide comfort measures.

Education

6 months of nursing assistant experience

Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program

Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire

Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program

Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
