Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, Minnesota is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant to join the Med/Surg Unit. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, support comfort and safety, and help meet the missions of Essentia Health.

The role requires 6 months of CNA experience or completion of nursing assistant coursework, BLS or ability to obtain within 1 month, and availability for 8-hour shifts including days, evenings, or nights.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed CNA qualifications.
• BLS certified or able to obtain within 1 month from hire date.
• If qualified through the Essentia Health Foundation Course East Market (Excluding WI): Completion of Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation course within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs
• Providing comfort care and other assistance
• Appropriately and safely transferring patients
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.

Education

6 months of nursing assistant experience

Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program

Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire

Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program

Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
