Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Medical Unit to support patient care on day and evening shifts. This 0.4 FTE, part-time position involves direct patient assistance under RN supervision.

You will perform personal hygiene tasks, take vitals, and help with nourishment while maintaining a safe, clean environment. Shift times include 7:00 AM–3:30 PM and 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, with every other weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the listed requirements.
• Six months of patient care experience.
• One semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program.
• EH Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire.
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program.
• Current registration on the state nursing assistant registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene care and assist with nutritional needs.
• Provide comfort care and other assistance.
• Safely transfer patients.
• Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients.

Education

6 months of patient care experience

Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program

Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire

Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program

Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry
