Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care from admission to discharge under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role emphasizes compassionate, safe care in alignment with hospital policies.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, documenting observations in the EHR, maintaining a safe environment, reporting changes to the RN, and collaborating with the care team during day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island Nursing Assistant license.
• Certified in American Heart Association BLS.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills.
• Experience as a Nursing Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Under supervision, perform Personal Care Skills and Basic Nursing Assistant Skills per Rhode Island requirements.
• Perform Rehabilitation Skills including activities of daily living and ambulation.
• Maintain Safe Environment and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
• Communicate patient observations to the RN and participate in emergency/code responses.
• Diligently document data in the EHR and perform related duties as required.
