Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Under RN supervision, you will perform personal care, basic nursing tasks, and assist with daily living activities, while ensuring safety and infection control.

The role requires RI Nursing Assistant licensure, a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification. Prior experience is preferred; weekend/evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
• High school graduate or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills.
• Certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to care for patients across the life span.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Under the supervision of the RN, perform personal care skills.
• Perform basic nursing assistant skills as outlined by Rhode Island DOH.
• Assist with rehabilitation and activities of daily living; ambulate as appropriate.
• Maintain safe environment; report unsafe conditions and equipment needs.
• Report patient observations to the RN; adhere to infection control and documentation.
• May function as a patient observer.
• Perform related duties as required.
