Job summary

Service Corporation International in Whittier, CA is seeking a Customer Service Associate to handle first-call inquiries, dispatch teams, and process death-certificate documents with accuracy and sensitivity.

You will interact with families and professionals, maintain HMIS records, and stay updated on regulatory changes while meeting safety standards and company policies. Overnight shifts are required, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Preferred 3 years in a business environment (mortuary/cemetery preferred).
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Answer first calls from emotionally distressed customers with professionalism and compassion.
• Dispatch removal team and obtain doctor information, embalming permission, and removal/releases to complete the first call.
• Mail out certified copies of death certificates and ensure accuracy.
• Handle customer complaints and provide satisfactory resolutions.
• Maintain HMIS case documents and ensure timely archiving.
