Job summary

Service Corporation International in California seeks a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations. You will greet families, answer questions, and assist on services while maintaining compassion and professionalism.

Role includes handling flowers, setting up venues, driving company vehicles, and performing office tasks. Requires HS diploma, valid driver's license, and customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services: delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and keepsakes; ensures proper care and storage.
• Prepares documents related to services, cremations, maintenance as directed by management.
• Assists with preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or operation of crematory as allowed by law.
• Performs office duties: answering phones, fax, computer, multi-line phone system, debit machine, typing, postage meter, scale, stereo/video system.
• Run errands for floral delivery and supplies.
• Serves as usher and may park cars or handle transportation.
• Drives funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law.
• Assists with visitations, chapel setup, dressing remains, delivering family items and flowers.
• Greets and assists client families; supports during services and visitations.
