Mercy Health, MICU - Anderson, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide essential health care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include patient hygiene, vital signs, mobility assistance, and accurate documentation.

The role emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced MICU setting. The position requires either a nursing aide training program or equivalent certification (STNA/CNA) and/or relevant clinical experience.

Qualifikationen

• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• Must have completed one of the following: nursing aide training program OR STNA/CNA OR nursing program with clinical nursing course and rotation OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility (preferred, not required)

Aufgaben

• Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assistance with mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees.
• Provides accurate, timely documentation when applicable for patient care.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency has been validated.
• Mobilizes patients using therapeutic transfer techniques.
• Encourages patients to complete tasks independently when possible.
• Individualizes care based on patient's interests and hobbies.
