Job summary

Harpers Station of Yorktown is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to support residents by administering medications under supervision, assisting with ADLs, dining, and activities while promoting safety and dignity.

You will maintain HIPAA compliance, communicate effectively with residents and families, help mentor new staff, and respond promptly to requests, including emergency readiness as essential personnel during inclement weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent.
• Medicine Technician (Med-Tech) certification required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Supervises self-administration of medication for residents.
• Assists with ADLs, meal service, light housekeeping, and laundry while promoting resident independence.
• Interacts with residents at all levels with empathy, kindness, and respect.
• Observes and reports changes in health and emotional well-being to supervisor.
• Serves and assists residents in dining room at meals daily.
• Initiates and participates in leisure activities as per activity calendar.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment at all times.
• Responds promptly to resident requests and communicates clearly.
• Ensures residents or responsible parties sign out when leaving the community.
• Maintains safety and follows HIPAA regulations; provides training to new employees.
• Mentors new staff and assists in training; takes initiative on special projects.
