Job summary

Discovery Management Group is seeking a Care Giver/Medication Technician for the Poughkeepsie area to enrich seniors’ lives and provide hands-on care in a home-like setting.

Responsibilities include medication administration, daily living assistance, and safety, with a focus on compassionate, person-centered care. Flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth are offered, including benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse's Aide certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and demonstrate good judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and supervision for residents, assisting with activities of daily living.
• Administer and observe medications following the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
• Monitor resident conditions and document changes in behavior, appetite, and participation.
• Engage residents in enrichment programs and life skills activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment in resident spaces and medication/treatment areas.
• Respond promptly to resident call bells and security systems.
• Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare staff about care needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
