Job summary

Good Samaritan is seeking a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered care in a Canistota, SD facility. The MA will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and administer medications under supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities include documenting care outcomes, assisting with meals, and supporting wellness and recreation programs while ensuring safety and comfort for residents.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or GED; CNA certification preferred where required.
• Must be 18+ with prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred in long-term care.
• Certifications: CMA/TMA as applicable by state; CMA courses or CMA/Medication Aide training as required by state laws.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assists with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and mobility.
• Records vital signs and communicates changes to the charge nurse.
• Supports wellness and recreational programs and maintains a clean, safe environment.
