Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) who provides resident-centered care under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will assist with daily living activities, basic health tasks, and help manage medications under state regulations.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, accurate documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff to ensure a positive dining and living experience for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred.
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours CE per year.
• CMA/CNA certification required per state (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Record vital signs and care outcomes accurately.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and daily activities.
• Support dining, hydration, and nutrition; assist with meals as needed.
• Maintain clean living areas and assist with laundry and housekeeping.
• Communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse.
• Participate in wellness activities and encourage resident participation.
