Job summary

Gardens of Westbrooke is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to assist in administering medications to residents under physician orders, nurse supervisor, and the Director of Nursing Services. You will follow nursing standards and facility policies to provide daily resident care according to each care plan.

You will perform administrative tasks such as documenting in charts, reporting medication errors, and supporting nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Certified Medication Aide with authority delegated by nurse supervisor.
• Follow facility policies for medication administration.
• Maintain resident care per assessment and care plan.
• Report medication errors and discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as ordered by physician.
• Verify resident identity before administering medication.
• Record entries on flow sheets, reports and charting.
• Interpret and follow nursing policies and procedures.
• Report changes in resident condition to the Charge Nurse.
• Count narcotics and manage narcotic records per shift.
• Ensure confidentiality of resident information and prevent unauthorized access.
