Job summary

Cedarhurst Living is seeking a Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) to join our nursing team. The L1MA reports to the Director of Nursing and administers medications while providing direct resident care per individualized care plans.

The role supports activities of daily living, maintains safety and documentation, and communicates condition changes to physicians and supervisors to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution following an individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document all pertinent observations, interventions, and daily medication aid throughout the shift.
• Ensure timely communication and handoff to the next shift and supervise documentation by aides.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications following the five rights (right medication, route, resident, time, dose).
• Support residents with activities of daily living and nutritional/hydration needs.
• Promote safety and participate in fall prevention and infection control measures.
