Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living seeks a Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) to administer medications and provide direct resident care per individualized care plans. The role supports activities of daily living, safety, and accurate documentation while promoting resident independence.

The L1MA reports to the Director of Nursing and participates in teamwork to ensure high-quality, person-centered care. Background checks and health screenings are required in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Administer medications per individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and report condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document observations, incidents, interventions, and daily medication assistance.
• Pass essential information to the next shift and ensure timely MAR documentation.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Provide glucose monitoring and insulin administration where certified.
• Assist residents with ADLs and mobility as needed.
• Support fall prevention and infection control protocols.
• Promote resident independence and safe, person-centered care.
