Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) to administer medications, support daily living activities, and document care for residents. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and emphasizes safety, independence, and person-centered care.

Responsibilities include medication distribution, vital signs, insulin administration for certified staff, and collaborating with physicians, families, and supervisors to maintain high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active state-approved medication aide/technician certification required.
• Insulin certification preferred.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care services including medicine distribution following an individualized plan of care.
• Observe residents and communicate condition changes to physicians and supervisors.
• Document observations, incidents, interventions, and medication administration.
• Pass information to the next shift and ensure timely MAR documentation.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
• Administer and document medications with the five rights (medication, route, resident, time, dose).
• Support residents with ADLs and nutrition/hydration needs.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and fall-prevention activities.
• Promote resident well-being and participate in care planning and family communication.
