Job summary

CleanSlate Centers in Scranton, PA is seeking a Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming first point of contact for patients.

You will handle front desk operations, schedule visits, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and support the daily workflow to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, 1+ year medical office experience, and proficiency with EMRs and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; an Associate degree is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced medical office.
• Experience with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and phone systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage front desk operations.
• Check-in patients and update insurance and demographics.
• Schedule and coordinate provider appointments.
• Assist patients who missed appointments to ensure continuity.
• Handle prior authorizations and explain financial responsibilities.
• Distribute, verify, and scan intake forms.
• Collect co-pays and process payments; set up payment plans.
• Maintain a clean front office and patient confidentiality.
• Provide courteous communication by phone and in person.
• Participate in team huddles and support the team.
