Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will welcome patients, document health histories, assist with exams and procedures, administer medications, and educate patients and families.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an MA program with externship. EMT/Paramedic/ATC pathways or MA certification eligibility are considered, with CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited MA program with externship or internship.
• EMT, Paramedic, or Certified Athletic Trainer pathways also eligible.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA certification eligibility desired; EMT with current license or Paramedic with NRPN/State license considered.
• Maintain current MA Re-Certification CEUs if credentialed.
• 0–1 year clinical experience preferred; otherwise 2+ years in community-based clinic with testing/evaluation may apply.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support outcomes.
• Coordinate care between patients and providers; support care coordination.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
