Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with exams and procedures, and help coordinate care to ensure a positive healthcare experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program with externship, EMT or Paramedic training, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; completion of accredited MA program and externship; EMT/Paramedic programs or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification or EMT with active license in Michigan; Paramedic with National Registry or Michigan license.
• Minimum Experience: 0–1 year clinical experience or 2+ years clinical support if MA program not completed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaise between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
