Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Maryland is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide compassionate clinical and administrative support in our Baltimore clinic. You will educate patients, assist providers, and help ensure a respectful, non-judgmental experience during reproductive health visits.

You will also manage front/back-office tasks and navigate the Epic EMR system to support smooth operations and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience OR 2 years of front/back office MA duties.
• Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive patient interactions without judgment.
• Preferred CMA credential, ultrasound experience, and knowledge of Epic EMR.
• Bonus: Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a huge plus!

Responsibilities

• Guide clients through their visit, assisting providers during exams, and ensuring respectful, informed care.
• Assist medical providers during examinations and procedures, following SOPs and Medical Standards.
• Be a welcoming, service-oriented guide for patients; obtain informed consent and answer questions on procedures, labs, and medications.
• Seamlessly manage front and back-office tasks: greet clients, verify insurance for next-day appointments, navigate Epic EMR.
