Planned Parenthood of Maryland Inc. in Annapolis seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks, guide patients, and assist providers during exams in a respectful, non-judgmental environment.

The role emphasizes patient education, front/back office duties, and EMR navigation (Epic). Must have MA program completion and 1 year outpatient experience or 2 years in similar admin roles; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinical experience or 2 years performing front/back office MA duties in a healthcare setting.
• Excellent customer service, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive patient interactions without judgment.
• Preferred CMA credential, ultrasound experience, and working knowledge of Epic EMR.
• Bonus: bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

Responsabilidades

• Empower through education: provide empathetic, non-directive counseling on contraception, pregnancy, and STI risks.
• Support clinical excellence: assist providers during exams and procedures, following SOPs and guidelines.
• Champion the patient experience: welcome patients, obtain informed consent, and answer questions about procedures, labs, and medications.
• Drive daily operations: manage front/back-office tasks and navigate Epic EMR for scheduling and insurance verification.
