Job summary

WellMed in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in patient care. The MA performs duties within the scope of practice, including rooming patients, collecting specimens, assisting with wound care, and performing EKGs under supervision.

Responsibilities include accurate charting, coordinating patient care, maintaining infection control and privacy, and delivering strong customer service. A sign-on bonus is offered for external candidates, with a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Proven ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Proven excellent communication and customer service skills.
• TB screening and immunity requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant's practice, including rooming patients and basic procedures.
• Records patient care documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and policy.
• Respects patient confidentiality and provides courteous service.
• Organizes exam and treatment rooms and maintains equipment cleanliness.
• Performs infection control precautions and supports Standard Delegation of Orders.
