Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 180 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers (written exam and in-person assessment) at time of hire or within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proven ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Proven good communication and customer service skills.
• Tuberculosis screening and immunity requirements per policy.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties within the scope of a Medical Assistant's practice, including basic patient care tasks and procedures.
• Rooms patients and prepares them for examination.
• Records patient care documentation accurately and timely.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and policies.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and respectful care.
• Organizes exam rooms and sterilizes equipment.
• Follows standard infection control precautions and completes required training.
• Provides intake screening and supports and follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
