Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support patient-centered care in a busy clinical setting. You will interview patients, take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and assist providers with procedures per protocol.

Proficiency with CIS/Centrisity and documentation is required; MA credentials such as ARMA/AMT/CCMA/AAMA/NCMA are preferred. The role may involve cross-training across departments and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MA program or demonstrated MA II competencies.
• Preferred: Registered/certified by ARMA, AMT, CCMA, AAMA or NCMA.
• Clinical information systems (CIS) and Centricity used for patient data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient and room for exams, tests, and procedures.
• Conduct patient intake and capture health history and vitals.
• Execute provider orders and coordinate testing and meds per protocol.
• Assist provider with procedures and set up/clean rooms.
• Perform selected procedures (EKG, screenings, point-of-care tests) as allowed.
• Complete accurate documentation of care and patient instructions.
• Schedule follow-ups and referrals; educate patients.
• Coordinate hand-offs and communicate with care teams.
• Complete referrals and prior authorizations as needed.
• May float to other practices as necessary.
