Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MA program OR demonstrated MA II competencies with minimum 3 years’ current relevant medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting.

Responsibilities

• Patient and Room Preparation: prepare room and patient for exam or procedure, ensure equipment and education materials available.
• Patient Intake and History: gather and confirm patient information and medical history, document in CIS/Centricity.
• Clinical Orders: implement provider orders, refill prescriptions, manage prior authorizations.
• Assisting Provider: chaperone and assist during procedures, set up/clean rooms.
• Procedures: perform procedures including EKG and basic screenings as directed.
• Documentation: complete timely documentation of procedures.
• Patient Discharge: schedule follow-ups, provide education, prepare rooms for next patient.
• Communication/Leadership: coordinate hand-offs and raise red flags when needed.
• Completes referrals and scheduling: manage referrals and scheduling as required.
• May float to other departments as needed to support patient care.
