Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs and NPs with clinical and clerical tasks. You will ensure smooth patient flow, prepare exam rooms, document vitals and allergies in EHR, and assist with referrals and orders in the PMS/EHR.

The role requires 0–4 years of related experience, MA or phlebotomy training, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. English proficiency and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; MA or phlebotomy program required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program.
• 0-1 year related work experience; 2-4 years preferred.
• BLS certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic proficiency in computer use.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient as needed.
• Maintains efficient patient flow and schedules.
• Documents vital signs and allergies in EHR.
• Assists with referrals and orders in PMS and EHR.
• Adheres to universal safety precautions and manages supplies.
• Provides scribing services as required.
