Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs, and NPs with clerical duties, patient care and procedures. You will ensure smooth patient flow, prepare exam rooms, and document vital signs and allergies in the EHR, while assisting with referrals and appointments in the PMS/EHR.

The role requires an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program; 0–1 year experience is required, with 2–4 years preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program is required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire is required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient into the room.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Prepares information needed for patient visits and updates records in the EHR.
• Documents vital signs and allergies in the EHR accurately.
• Schedules appointments according to department guidelines.
• Stocks examination rooms with supplies and maintains equipment in good condition.
• Assists with referrals and orders in PMS and EHR.
• Adheres to universal safety precautions when administering medications.
