Job summary

Humana's CenterWell Senior Primary Care seeks a Medical Assistant to be the first contact for patient care, handling administrative tasks and clinical duties within scope of certification. You will operate in a team with physicians and advanced practice providers, performing vital signs, basic procedures, and documentation in the EMR.

The role requires MA schooling or certification, CPR, and 5+ years of experience with provider approval.

Qualifications

• Must have MA training or MA certification; or 5+ years of experience with provider approval.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• TB screening is required for selected candidates as part of Humana's TB program.
• Preferred: MA certification/registration; Phlebotomy & vaccine administration experience.
• 1+ years MA experience preferred.
• Value-based care knowledge including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within scope of certification and training.
• Take vital signs, assess symptoms, and document in the electronic medical record.
• Administer medications/vaccines per policy and safety guidelines.
• Maintain examination rooms and support clinical operations as needed.
