Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Lima Medical Office Building. You will provide indirect/direct patient care under provider supervision, document patient needs, and assist with care planning and implementation, including measurements, vitals, and basic procedures.

The role emphasizes compliance with clinical standards, patient communication, and teamwork in a high-volume setting. Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program within 30 days of employment.
• Active Medical Assisting certification or eligible per state requirements within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to legal responsibilities in the Medical Assistant role.
• Identify changes in patient condition through data collection and report to provider.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate to provider or supervisor as needed.
• Demonstrate excellence in care and professionalism with patients and staff.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist during visits.
