Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program within 30 days of employment.
• Active MA certification within 12 months of start date: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA.
• BLS/CPR certification required at hire where applicable.
• Externship or clinical lab training completed (preferred).
• 1 year of Medical Assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understands and adheres to the legal responsibilities and requirements within the Medical Assistant role.
• Identifies significant changes in patient condition through data collection and reports them to the provider.
• Troubleshoots issues and escalates problems to provider or supervisor.
• Demonstrates standards of excellence in care in all interactions with patients and staff.
• Maintains clinical and administrative skills per competency guidelines to meet patient care and daily operations.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
