Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant in Iowa to support patient care across procedures, exams and documentation. The role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and compassionate patient interaction within a team-based setting.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
Must obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
Must complete Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office).

Responsibilities

Deliver patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation.
Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
Prepare and organize patient charts and ensure documentation is complete.
Schedule procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries; provide pre- and post-surgery information.
Coordinate patient follow-ups and communications with providers.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and regulations.
Educate patients and families based on discharge plans and evidence-based resources.
Support training and onboarding of new colleagues and assist in cross-coverage as needed.
