Job summary

TexomaCare is seeking a Medical Assistant in Durant, OK. You will support physicians, interview patients, take vital signs, draw blood, and document in EMR under IPM guidelines. You will prep exam rooms and may assist at the front desk.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in/out per clinic protocol.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs (MS Office).
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of patient care duties under the physician's direction.
• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Perform venipuncture and procedures as directed within State scope of practice.
• Document in Electronic Medical Record per IPM guideline.
• Prepare examination rooms for patient visits.
• Assist in covering front desk as required.
