Job summary

TexomaCare is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in patient examinations and care. You will interview patients, take vital signs, perform venipuncture, and complete documentation in the EMR under IPM guidelines.

You may assist at the front desk as needed; the role requires familiarity with medical terminology, basic office software, and strong communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred for this community-focused clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (clinic protocol).
• General medical office procedures.
• End-of-day cash balancing and charge reconciliation understanding.
• Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Courteously and professionally interact with all patients.
• Ability to operate office equipment (fax, copier, telephone).
• EKG and other patient care testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and measure vital signs under physician direction.
• Venipuncture and procedures as directed by the physician.
• Document in the Electronic Medical Record per IPM guidelines.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
• Assist in covering the front desk as required.
