Job summary

STRANDS LLC at The Villas at Saratoga in Saratoga, CA is seeking a Medication Aide to support residents under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Responsibilities include pouring, dispensing and charting medications, taking vital signs and completing forms.

The role requires English literacy, the ability to follow directions, confidentiality, and professional conduct. Required are first aid/CPR, TB test, physical exam, fingerprint clearance, and Oregon Care Partners Med Tech

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Ability to conform to dress code and personal hygiene standards.
• Ability to cooperate with other employees.
• Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.
• Oregon Care Partners Certification for Med Tech
• Highschool Graduate
• Must have first aid training and CPR certificates.
• Must have acceptable references.
• Must have current physical exam and TB test.
• Must be able to pass fingerprint screening.

Responsibilities

• Pour, pass, and chart medications.
• Perform accucheck.
• Always preserve the dignity and self-respect of all residents.
• Practice confidentiality regarding residents and their records.
• Keep alert to residents’ conditions. Report changes to supervisor.
• Promptly answer call lights.
• Complete appropriate paperwork such as charting and incident reports.
• Attending all training and in-services required.
• Ordering medications
• Contacting Doctors and outside agencies.
