Job summary

GEO Secured Services is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care for detainees in a secure facility. You will work alongside an RN to develop care plans, perform assessments, administer meds, and maintain confidential medical records.

Ideal candidates have an accredited nursing degree, an active LPN license, and at least two years of direct nursing experience. The role emphasizes accuracy, discretion, and teamwork in a challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current, unrestricted LPN license.
• Two years of direct nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to work without direct supervision in nursing diagnosis and follow-through treatment.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer issues to the physician.
• Ensure prescribed medications are administered as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms and progress; report problems.
• Securely administer medications and prevent hoarding/trafficking.
• Follow accreditation policies.
• Document detainee medical contacts and maintain confidentiality of records.
