Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to inmates/detainees, working alongside an RN to develop and implement care plans.

The role emphasizes maintaining a confidential, secure environment and accurate medical records. Candidates should hold a current LPN license in the state, with preference for those having at least two years of direct nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a current, unrestricted LPN license in the state where the facility is located.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and provide appropriate follow-through treatment.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the physician.
• Administer prescribed medications as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms and progress and report to management.
• Document all detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
