Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join GEO Secured Services. You will participate in the implementation and evaluation of detainees’ health care needs and provide comprehensive nursing care while observing security requirements.

Requirements include graduating from an accredited nursing program, an active LPN license in the state, and at least 21 years of age. Independent work, accurate medication administration, and adherence to accreditation policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and an active LPN license in the state of the facility.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and provide appropriate follow-through treatment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within capacity and refer other medical problems to physician.
• Administer prescribed medications as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate patients’ symptoms and progress and report problems to management.
• Securely administer medications and prevent drug hoarding and trafficking.
• Follow industry and company accreditation policies.
• Document all detainee/inmate contacts and keep medical records confidential.
