Job summary

GEO Secured Services is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to work alongside our RN in providing high-quality care to inmates/detainees in a secure facility.

You will develop care plans, perform physical assessments, and administer medications while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to policies. A current LPN license and 2 years of experience are preferred, with an age requirement of at least 21 years.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted LPN license in the state of the facility.
• Two years of direct work experience preferred.
• Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical and psychiatric nursing care.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and follow through treatment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within capacity and refer to physician as needed.
• Administer prescribed medications as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate symptoms and progress, report problems to management.
• Securely administer medications and prevent hoarding/trafficking.
• Follow accreditation policies and document detainee medical records confidentially.
