Job summary

Responsibilities

• Administers medications or starts IV fluids, noting times and amounts on patients’ charts.
• Observes patients, charts, and reports changes in conditions and takes necessary actions.
• Measures and records vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
• Provides basic patient care such as taking temperatures or blood pressures and dressing wounds.
• Works with the health care team to assess needs, plan care, and modify interventions.
• Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes with the care team.
• Assembles and uses equipment such as catheters or oxygen supplies.
• Records food and fluid intake and output.
