Job summary

Qualifications

• LPN licensed in Florida.
• At least 1 year in geriatric nursing or rehab preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and medication administration.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Holds daily shift report with nursing assistants; reviews daily assignments.
• Rounds on residents at least every two hours.
• Administers medication and treatments per physician orders; orders medications.
• Collaborates on care plans and updates monthly or as conditions change.
• Assists attending physician with rounds and special procedures.
• Transcribes, documents and implements physician orders.
• Notifies physician and family of changes in condition; informs supervisor.
• Conducts yearly evaluations of nursing assistants and documents performance.
• Documents disciplinary concerns and potential suspensions or discharges.
• Completes routine documentation and audits.
• Participates in hiring, interviewing and orientation of CNAs.
• Assists in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process.
