Qualifications

• Be at least 18 yrs. old.
• Possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid Connecticut driver's license or state issued identification card and be registered with DMHAS as having completed an approved Recovery Assistant training program, have a Criminal Background check conducted within six months of application and meet any continuing education and/or training requirements set by DMHAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide Recovery Assistant services in home and community settings for at least 15 minutes.
• Assist or cue the participant with meal planning, shopping, housekeeping, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Encourage participation in family, social, and recreational activities and use of community supports.
• Support safe medication use and adherence to medical, dental, and appointment schedules.
• Promote healthy habits and assist with transportation to appointments.
• Participate in Recovery Plan development and update meetings if requested.
• Travel with a participant for qualifying waiver service activities.
