Responsibilities

• Rounds the hospital to assess transport inventory and moves equipment to optimize operations and maximize patient throughput.
• Greets and informs patients of the move process and ensures safety and comfort with proper checks.
• Moves furniture to accommodate stretcher and wheelchair logistics.
• Involves clinical staff in transferring patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Transports patients and charts to departments with empathy and care, and conducts thorough handoffs.
• Transports patients upon discharge and assists them into their vehicle, ending the stay on a friendly note.
• Prioritizes multiple transport requests to reduce wait times and improve patient/family satisfaction.
• Retrieves fresh code carts during medical codes and replenishes department supplies as needed.
• Delivers equipment and materials hospital-wide, including lab specimens and pharmacy supplies.
