Responsibilities

• Round the hospital to assess transport inventory and move equipment to optimize operations.
• Greet and inform patients about the move process, ensuring safety and dignity.
• Move furniture to accommodate stretcher or wheelchair transfers.
• Assist in transferring patients from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Transport patient and medical chart between departments with empathy and safety.
• Notify receiving department on arrival and perform thorough handoffs.
• Assist discharge transports and help patients into their vehicle.
• Prioritize transport requests to maximize patient throughput.
• Respond to equipment issues to ensure availability and maximize useful life.
• Deliver items hospital-wide, including specimens and pharmacy supplies.
