Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks volunteers to support Winchester Hospital's transport team. You will assist in moving patients and equipment, coordinate with clinical staff, and help ensure safe, efficient patient throughput while maintaining dignity and comfort.

This role requires basic health system awareness, a High School diploma (preferred) and BLS certification (required). The hospital emphasizes vaccination and safety in a high-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Required: BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Rounds the hospital to assess transport inventory and moves equipment to optimize operations.
• Greets and informs patient of move process and ensures safety checks are completed.
• Moves furniture to accommodate stretcher or wheelchair transport.
• Involves clinical staff in transferring patient from bed to stretcher or wheelchair.
• Pushes patient and chart to departments, conveying empathy while maintaining dignity.
• Notifies receiving department on arrival and completes hand-off with patient present.
• Transports patients on discharge and assists into vehicle with a friendly greeting.
• Prioritizes transport requests to minimize wait times and coordinate with departments.
• Responds to pages for medical codes and replenishes code carts as needed.
