Job summary

Hospice Austin is seeking a Visit Nurse to provide daytime nursing support to hospice patients and families in the Spicewood/Austin area. The role focuses on timely assessments, symptom management, admissions coordination with providers, and adherence to hospice philosophy and regulatory standards.

You will perform focused assessments, educate families, document in EMR, and work within a defined service area.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
• Unrestricted Texas RN license.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with insurance and clean driving record.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs focused patient assessments including vital signs and symptom evaluation.
• Delivers symptom management and comfort-focused interventions.
• Initiates orders and follows standing protocols as allowed.
• Documents thoroughly in the EMR and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Educates patients and families on care plans, end-of-life expectations, and safety.
