Job summary

Hospice Austin is seeking a Visit Nurse to provide daytime nursing support for hospice patients and families in the Spicewood–Austin area. The role involves focused assessments, admissions coordination with providers, and completing required documentation during standard business hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm).

The nurse will deliver symptom‑based care, educate families, and collaborate with the care team to ensure comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of professional nursing as determined by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
• Unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs focused, clinically indicated assessments during patient visits, including vital signs and symptom evaluations.
• Provides immediate comfort‑focused interventions to manage symptoms.
• Completes initial assessments and obtains admission approvals from providers.
• Completes visits within Hospice Austin service area as assigned by the Team Lead.
• Educates patients and families on symptom management and end‑of‑life care.
• Maintains accurate documentation in the EMR and communicates changes to the care team.
