Job summary

Community Healthcare of Texas is seeking a Spiritual Care Coordinator in Waco, TX. The role provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff and connects families with spiritual resources as part of the care plan.

Requires a Bachelor's in Religious Studies; Master’s degree preferred; hospice experience preferred; strong computer skills and reliable transportation. This PRN position offers meaningful work in a supportive hospice team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies required.
• Master’s degree with or working on Clinical Pastoral Education units preferred.
• Grief counseling experience preferred.
• Hospice experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in using a computer.
• Must have excellent listening skills.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient/family with spiritual care needs; participate in the plan of care
• Provide spiritual and emotional support according to the plan of care
• Participate in on-call rotation and various schedules/duties as assigned or needed
• Document visits/phone calls according to Policy
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings
• Provide aftercare and bereavement support in cooperation with the Bereavement Coordinator
• Provide spiritual and emotional support for staff
