Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide compassionate, in-home care to hospice patients under nursing supervision. You will perform personal care tasks, assist with meals and mobility, and help monitor vital signs, documenting patient status for the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 75 hours of training, and successful completion of a competency evaluation.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Meets personnel qualifications for Home Health Aide per 42 C.F.R. 484.4/484.36.
• 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. 484.36(a)(1).
• Competency evaluation program completed per 42 C.F.R. 484.36(b).

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care as assigned.
• Plan and prepare meals; assist with feeding when needed.
• Assist with ambulation and daily activities.
• Support prescribed treatments under nurse supervision.
• Read, record temperature, pulse and respiration.
