Job summary

St. Croix Hospice in Topeka, KS is seeking a compassionate Hospice Aide. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN Case Manager, supporting comfort and quality of life for hospice patients.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, meal support, documentation, medication reminders, and HIPAA compliance. You must hold a CNA license, be 18 or older, have a valid driver's license, and pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Must be a CNA with active license in the state of practice.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass background check, consumer report and drug test.
• Valid State Driver’s License and access to a vehicle, with insurance and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, and linen changes.
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and exercises per nursing staff.
• Offer meals, feeding, and light household tasks as assigned.
• Monitor and report patient condition changes to the RN Case Manager.
• Administer routine skin care to prevent breakdown and ensure comfort.
• Provide medication reminders per state regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
• Offer emotional support and respite for family caregivers.
• Use equipment safely for patient care needs.
• Adhere to documentation and HIPAA compliance standards.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
