Job summary

Bristol Hospice -High Desert (Klamath Falls), OR, is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for full-time hourly work. The role supports the Interdisciplinary Team under a Registered Nurse, delivering compassionate patient care in the Klamath Falls area.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• California regulation requires CNAs in good standing and HHA certification for CA residents.
• Preferred 1 year experience in community health/hospice or medical/surgical environments.
• Minimum 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Licensed driver with insured vehicle and active status.
• Willingness to submit to background check annually.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care after assignment and attend to requests promptly.
• Communicate with patient and family respectfully and confidentially.
• Meet safety needs and use equipment properly (foot stools, side rails, O2).
• Assist with baths, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen.
• Assist in dressing, undressing, and meal preparation as assigned.
• Help with feeding and monitoring intake.
• Take and record temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as ordered.
• Prevent skin breakdown and monitor skin condition.
• Report changes to the Case Manager and coordinate with caregivers.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers as directed by hospice staff.
• Support medication reminders as allowed by state rules.
• Assist with bedridden tasks and light laundry as needed.
• Provide respite for family/caregiver when on-site.
• Maintain clean and orderly living area and document care as required.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
